Sevenoaks District Scouts

"Seal 360" - Sevenoaks District Scouts activity centre

As part of the Tarmac quarry development, our aim is to redevelop a Barn just off Childsbridge Lane and create a Sevenoaks Scout Headquarters and district activity centre. Our working project title for this is "Seal 360" - Sevenoaks District Scouts activity centre.

The image shows the location of the existing barn and surrounding land.

This HQ will replace the current Seal Scout building that has served us well over the years and had reached the point at which it needed to be replaced.

Our hope is that as well as providing an excellent Scout HQ for Sevenoaks, we can utilise the location for a range of activities. The proximity of the lake will hopefully provide a base for our water based teams that include paddleboarding and kayaking. The surrounding land should allow us to run activities such as archery, tomahawk throwing. The limit is really just our imagination, efforts and resourcing.

In 2024, the goal is to achieve planning consent and continue our fundraising efforts. The sale of the Seal building means we have an excellent basis to build upon in terms of our fundraising efforts.

A team is in place that is leading this within Sevenoaks Scouts. Additional support will be very much welcomed. If you feel that you can lend a hand please let us know and join the team.

Volunteers are needed to join our fundraising team to organize events, manage grant applications, and help us secure the rest of the money we need to start development in late 2024. If you have experience in accounting, finance, fundraising, construction or project management, we could really use your expertise.
