Media Team make National Site
15th January 2007

Members of the Sevenoaks Media Team and Scouts from 3rd Sevenoaks visited Gilwell Park, the home of the Scout Association to report on one of the activities the centre has to offer - the revolving climbing wall.
The team spent over an hour putting the wall, a bit like a vertical running machine, through its paces. As well as being able to change the speed, the tilt of the wall can also be altered which can be quite unnerving.
Whilst climbers were on the wall, other members of the team carried out interviews for the Scout Associations website - www.scouts.org.uk/scouts
Following the climb, the team was invited into the offices at Gilwell Park where they simiulated a news team, creating an article about the climbing wall activity, recording their views and selecting the best photographs they had taken. This will be available soon on the www.scouts.org.uk/scouts website.
After this the Scouts also learnt about Fair Trade Chocolate and signed the Dubble Fair Trade Chocolate Manifesto. http://www.scouts.org.uk/scouts/global/dubble.htm This was featured in Scouting Plus - an electronic communication to leaders.
Our thanks to Elis at Gilwell Park who made this possible!!!
