Weald Cubs Swim for the RNLI
After a visit from the RNLI the cubs were so impressed that they wanted to do some fundraising by way of saying thank you. A sponsored swim was arranged and the cubs started to swim lengths and then some more lengths and then some more and on and on they went. Eventually the pack had swum enough lengths to raise over £950, which by any standard is most impressive.
To train a new lifeboat man in the first year costs around £1000 so the Pack should take pride in knowing that they have paid for this training through their efforts.
The member of the RNLI who came to give the original talk returned to accept the cheque and was totally surprised at how much the pack had raised. He is now hoping to arrange a special trip for the pack to visit a Lifeboat Station, probably Newhaven, where the cubs will be allowed a little time aboard the lifeboat stationed there.
